Celebrating International Recovery Day
September is National Recovery Month, in recognition of the people all around the globe in various stages of recovery from addiction. From a single day to 50 or more years, recovery is something to be celebrated. This year’s theme is “Recovery is for Everyone”, to recognize that everyone in recovery, from all recovery pathways, everywhere in the world, are worthy of support and praise.
We’ve spent time this month reflecting on our own journeys and the family and friends we’ve met along the way. It has also been a joy to read the recovery stories from all around the globe that have been posted here.
National Recovery Month ends with International Recovery Day, a day to “promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible.”
We’re so proud to provide services that are so vital for those in recovery, and it is because of our own personal experiences that we are able to be here and have the expertise and knowledge to help and serve others. From interventions that are often a necessary first step in helping loved ones along the road to recovery, to support services like recovery coaching to maintain the right path, we love what we do and are so proud of those who have made the honorable choice to join us in recovery.
On this day we also think of those who were not lucky enough to get the gift of recovery. We stay clean for another day to honor the ones who didn’t make it, all of us have lost people along the way. It’s by true grace that we’re in recovery and what an honor it is to be in this work.
Our mission from the beginning has been to help as many families as possible. We’re inclusive of all types of families and communities, it’s really important to us to be able to help everyone.
There is a virtual celebration planned with registration here, we hope that those in recovery will celebrate with us, and those considering a life in recovery will find inspiration in our stories and pride.
With love,
Bruce and Ken
